All participants are encouraged to send an abstract addressing different aspects of interstitial lung diseases. The abstracts will be accepted for poster presentation. Posters will be displayed during the whole Conference and discussed by faculty members on Friday. There will be an award for the best three posters announced on the last day of the Conference as oral presentation.

Abstract submission

1. General

  • An abstract of up to 250 words must be submitted in English.
  • The abstract being submitted must not have been published or presented at other congresses.
  • The abstract should contain the principal details of the study: the aim, methodology, results and conclusions. Common abbreviations may be used unexplained, while others should be explained. When mentioning drugs, their names should be in line with the international nomenclature.
  • Abstracts may only be submitted via the online panel for the Congress participants.
  • Submission of an abstract requires prior online registration of the participant (see: Registration).
  • The deadline for abstract submission is March 5th, 2016.
  • Abstracts submitted after this deadline will not be accepted. Abstracts sent by post, fax or email will not be accepted.
  • Each submitted abstract will be qualified for acceptance anonymously by independent reviewers.
  • Reviewers’ assessment will be completed by March 31st, 2016.
  • The authors will be informed whether their submissions have been accepted or rejected by April 25th, 2016.
  • The abstracts will be printed in the Congress materials.

2. Topic categories for the abstracts

You should specify one topic category within which the submitted abstract falls:

  • Interstitial lung diseases other than idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis;
  • Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis;
  • Sarcoidosis.    

3. Abstract layout

  • The abstract must include the following:
    1. Title (no abbreviations, IN CAPITAL LETTERS);
    2. Initials and surnames of all the authors ;
    3. Name of the institution and the city in which it is located;
    4. The body of the abstract, which should include a brief introduction and aim of the study, description of the material and methods, results and conclusions and the number of the session to which the authors submit a presentation. The word count of the abstract should not exceed 250, including tables.
  • Do not include figures, institution address (street address, post code), scientific degrees, names of the grants sponsoring the study or the references.
